Sliema, is buzzing with activity in the summer months with numerous bars, beach lidos, restaurants, ice cream parlours, cafes, supermarkets, shopping malls and numerous shops all offering something different to the numerous tourists who visit Malta during the summer months. At the heart of this popular town is the Sliema Aquatic Waterpolo Club which is one of Malta's leading waterpolo clubs and also offers swimming facilities and outdoor dining to non members.

Sliema is one of Malta's most expensive property districts, being a seaside town, it also doubles up as commercial district. Numerous apartment blocks can be found in this busy town boasting a population of some 15,000 people and possibly another 5,000 in apartments for rent in Sliema. Property values in Sliema range from EUR 125,000 for a one bedroom apartment to EUR 500,000 for townhouses and larger up-market apartments.

Sliema is home to numerous hotels ranging from 3 star to 5 star properties, and cover boutique hotels as well as spa hotels. Prices for Sliema hotels vary depending on the season with the peak seasons being June-September and the Easter & Christmas periods, usually availability during these periods is also vary scarce to due to large number fo tourists who visit Malta during these periods.  One of our favourite value for money hotels is the 4 Star Preluna Resort & Spa Hotel which is situtated on Tower Road and most rooms enjoy open and direct sea views.

 Whether its fine dining, open air dining or a quick kebab, Sliema offers it all. One can find a variety of restaurants along the coastline offering mouth watering local dishes, as well as Meditteranean and Oriental Cuisine. A couple of favourites in this area are the excellent restaurants of the Fortina Resort & Spa which offer a selction of Restaurants which include an Italian restaurant, a Thai restaurant and an excellent Japanese restaurant. Mareluna is also a favourite, situated round the corner from the Preluna hotel and offers excellent Italian food.
